Boys Junior Varsity Football, Boys Varsity Football Sr. High · 2019 CHAMPIONSHIP GAME 12/7 at WAR MEMORIAL – Broadcast options

It’s time for Benton Panther State Championship football!  Saturday at 6:30 p.m., the Benton Panthers and Searcy Lions will battle for the Class 6A State Championship at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock.  The Panthers (9-3) return for a second consecutive appearance in the title game, their third in the past six years, and fourth all-time.  The 1977 Panthers were crowned State Champs after a 13-7 victory over Conway.  The 2014 Panthers finished State Runner-up with a loss to Pine Bluff as did last year’s Panthers with a defeat at the hands of Greenwood.

This game matches the Conference Champions from the 6A.  Benton went undefeated (7-0) in claiming the 6A West crown while Searcy (11-1, 6-1) won the 6A East conference title.  This will be Searcy’s first appearance in a State Championship game since 1984 with the school’s lone State Championship coming in 1933.

The Panthers reached the championship game thanks to a 63-35 win over West Memphis at home last Friday night.  Searcy knocked off Greenwood 50-38 at Searcy to secure the Lions’ spot in the championship ga
